Business Editors/High-Tech Writers
MISSION VIEJO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2004
Foundstone Inc., experts in strategic security, today announced it will launch a series of free educational Webcasts covering the hottest trends in information security. The series will discuss such timely and relevant topics as security metrics, job security, complying with Sarbanes-Oxley, testing Web applications and building security into software development.
The first Webcast, entitled "The Ins and Outs of Security Metrics," will feature William Boni, vice president and chief information security officer of Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) and Stuart McClure, Foundstone president and CTO and best-selling author of Hacking Exposed. The hour-long Webcast will be held at 11 a.m. EST on April 14.
Security professionals at all levels will learn the importance of a formalized information security program and the critical role metrics play in achieving a company's security goals. Boni will relate real-world experiences and recommendations that will be valuable in helping shape security policies, including establishing measurement standards early on. "Security vulnerabilities plague companies of every size and in every industry today," said Boni. "Without a formalized network security program and measurement standards, enterprises are playing Russian roulette and putting some of their most valuable digital assets at risk."
On April 22, the series will continue with "Is Your Job Safe in 2006? Staying Relevant as an Information Security Professional." Dave Cole, vice president of product management for Foundstone, will discuss ways to break away from the pack and stay ahead of forthcoming changes to the traditional information security career.
More information on the complete Webcast schedule and registration information can be found at www.foundstone.com/company/events.htm.
