Did you know that the hottest techie game is software roulette?
According to the Business Software Alliance in Washington, D.C., most businesses don't realize that their employees download unlicensed software. Pirated software puts the company's corporate ethics and computer safety at risk and opens them up to lawsuits and fines if they get caught, said spokeswoman Charlotte Newman.
Violators can be fined up to $150,000 per copy of illegal software, Newman said.
So this week, the Business Software Alliance is conducting a free Web seminar in New Orleans to teach companies about the risk and tips on how to combat it. Companies can sign up and participate via www.internetworld.com/webseminar.bsa.
