Office star Ricky is back at his desk writing for children RICKY GERVAIS is making his debut as a children's author. The 41-year-old star of BBC2's The Office, in which he plays David Brent, has sold his book Flanimals to Faber for an undisclosed sum. It is described as: "part Pokemon, part Dr Seuss, with a bit of Hilaire Belloc thrown in" and uses "ludicrous wordplay" to describe imaginary animals. It will be published next year.
New Eurofighter grounded as braking system fails
THE long-delayed new Eurofighter, due to be delivered to the RAF this year, has been grounded by a fault in the braking system.
The pilot of a test plane operated by manufacturer EADS found the fault after landing at the firm's Munich plant. The problem was traced to a faulty electrical component. EADS was unable to say when the 57 million plane would be cleared to fly.
Armed robbers terrify pub staff with 'Russian roulette' A PUB landlord and a barmaid were forced into a terrifying game of "Russian roulette" by masked raiders.
They held a gun to the man's head and pulled the trigger, then did the same to the barmaid. The raiders snatched the takings from the Stag Inn in Brighton on Saturday night and fled, firing another empty chamber at the landlord when he chased them. The men, described as "dangerous", are still on the run.
