SNOWPLOWING
Real slick: Lawmakers put drivers in danger
Friday, November 28, 2003
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Nov. 21 article concerning reductions in snowplowing operations should have appeared on the front page as opposed to inside the Metro section ("Budget cuts may mean less snowplowing").
The general taxpaying public should realize that the fiscally irresponsible "powers that be" in Madison are playing Russian roulette with our lives.
It doesn't take a genius to realize that it is reckless to build larger and additional highways at a time when we can no longer afford to maintain our existing infrastructure.
Perhaps the Journal Sentinel could further serve the citizens of Wisconsin by utilizing its resources to identify specific bureaucrats who are misguided in their road-building frenzy. They should be removed from office before the first drop of blood is unnecessarily shed on inadequately plowed roads throughout our state.
