Sweepstakes Grand Prize Award is a Trip for Two to Moscow, Russia
One lucky Game Show Network (GSN) viewer will have the opportunity to win a trip of a lifetime -- an all-expense paid trip for two to Moscow, Russia -- by playing GSN's "To Russia With Luck" launch sweepstakes online at www.gameshownetwork.com from June 3 to June 9, 2002.
"To Russia With Luck," a GSN original sweepstakes co-sponsored by AT&T and Discover(R) Card, was created to promote the premiere of GSN's new original series "Russian Roulette." Hosted by Mark L. Walberg ("Temptation Island"), "Russian Roulette" will air weeknights at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT beginning Monday, June 3.
Employing the latest television technologies, Game Show Network is also adding an additional marketing platform to register for the sweepstakes through "Russian Roulette's" exclusive interactive sync-to-broadcast component sponsored by AT&T.
Contestants who log on to www.gameshownetwork.com to play "Russian Roulette Interactive" between June 3 and June 9 may enter with one correct answer into the "To Russia With Luck" sweepstakes. ITV participants can increase their chances of winning prizes when they answer additional questions in real time about AT&T's television commercials. AT&T's sponsorship is GSN's first as a sync-to-broadcast advertiser.
The "To Russia With Luck" sweepstakes is another example of GSN's innovative marketing efforts which are geared toward promoting game play as well as tune-in. The marketing campaign includes media such as spot radio, TV Guide and online advertising as well as spots on the Dish Network and DirectTV for both "Russian Roulette" and "Friend or Foe." ("Friend or Foe" is a new original series hosted by Kennedy which also premieres on June 3.) Additionally, radio DJs will be playing games of "Russian Roulette" and "Friend or Foe" with their listeners for prizes.
"Having successfully launched this year's first new original series `Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck' last month, we are excited to kick-off our next two originals, `Russian Roulette' and `Friend or Foe,' with a fresh, intriguing and humorous marketing campaign that is already attracting a great amount of buzz," said Dena Kaplan, senior vice president marketing Game Show Network.
"Our top marketing priority is to create promotions that engage the participation of our viewers in every platform we offer, either online, interactive, off-air or on-air," stated Kaplan. "We want to continue to be the place where viewers can watch, play and win incredible prizes such as this unique trip to Russia."
"To Russia With Luck's" grand prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Moscow, Russia, to attend a taping of the Russian version of "Russian Roulette," a hit in the international television market. The first place winner will receive a spa treatment Russian style, including a borscht bath and caviar facial. Five second place finishers will be awarded Russian language tapes.
The new series, "Russian Roulette," features four contestants who challenge each other's smarts with multiple-choice questions. A wrong answer may result in a player going broke and literally "falling" out of the game through holes in the stage floor.
"Russian Roulette" airs in multiple time periods throughout the week. On Monday through Friday, "Russian Roulette" can be seen at 11:00 PM ET/8:00 PM PT, 4:30 PM ET/1:30 PM ET and 2:00 AM ET/11:00 PM PT. On weekends, viewers can watch the show at 4:30 PM ET/1:30 PM PT, 11:00 PM ET/8:00 PM PT and 2:00 AM ET/11:00 PM PT.
