Rollover roulette: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has rated the 2001 cars and trucks for rollover resistance and posted the ratings on its Web site at www.nhtsa.gov.
The lowest-rated vehicles (one star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest-rated vehicles (five stars). For example, the Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 got three stars, which means it has about a one-in-four risk of rolling over during a single-vehicle crash, compared with the four-door Chevy Blazer 4x2, which received one star--which means a two-in-five chance of rollover.
By comparison, the four-door Honda Accord passenger car got the safest rating, with a less than one-in-ten chance of rolling over.
