STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2004
Cryptek, Inc., a leading provider of network security for protecting high-value government and corporate information assets, has appointed Daniel R. Abraham, President & CEO. David Gross, who has served as President & CEO since December 1996, was named Vice Chairman.
Mr. Abraham, an executive with more than two decades' experience in delivery of mission critical information technology and telecom products and services to government customers, will oversee Cryptek's business development, sales and marketing to the Federal government. Mr. Gross will continue a highly active role, focusing on potential acquisitions, advising on key strategic accounts and new business development in non-governmental vertical sectors.
Mr. Abraham joins Cryptek from Arrowhead Global Solutions, McLean, Virginia, a leading provider of secure communications for Federal, civil, intelligence and defense agencies where he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and was instrumental in helping the company double its revenue in the past two years. Earlier, he held positions at Titan Systems Corporation, Vienna, Virginia, ultimately as Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Programs. At Titan, he helped fuel the company's growth to $1.5 billion in annual revenue, making it the fourteenth ranked information technology provider to the Federal government.
"I am extremely excited about joining Cryptek which has one of the strongest technology portfolios and engineering staffs in network security," stated Mr. Abraham. "Cryptek has established itself as a vital resource for secure communication at all levels of government. Additionally, agreements to integrate our technology in offerings from Sun and IBM uniquely equip us to address enterprise security needs."
Mr. Abraham began his career as a systems analyst and project leader in the satellite communications field, where he worked on numerous projects including the modernization of the U.S. Air Force's Satellite Control Network. He is an active member in Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA), the Professional Services Council (PSC), Space Foundation, Association of Old Crows, Air Force Association and AUSA, groups where he routinely interacts with the most influential members of government and industry.
"The appointment of Dan Abraham, who has vast experience in government markets and a track record as a team leader is a milestone for Cryptek," said David Roberts, Cryptek Chairman of the Board, and Managing Director at Angelo, Gordon & Co., a leading investment management firm. "This appointment will add to our management strength and market positioning, continuing the momentum created under David Gross."
Commented David Gross: "Dan's knowledge of government budget and procurement processes, skill in formation of large multi-contract teams and numerous government contacts will allow us to serve our core government markets in a variety of new ways. With Dan onboard, we will have a formidable team equipped to plan, manage, deliver and support projects that address the most demanding customer requirements for secure communications."
