LOS ANGELES -- Media Gems, a subsidiary of WENR Corp. (OTC:WNRC) (wenr.net), announced today that it has selected "The Money" starring Danny DeVito to be released with an interview with Danny, a recognized comic genius. The release will be on DVD and VHS.
"The Money," also released as "Atlantic City Jackpot," (1975, 86 minutes): Graham Beckel stars as Roland, an unemployed loser who wants to try his luck one more time at making big money fast. But his plan has nothing to do with poker, or blackjack, or even the ubiquitous slot machines. Instead, he's gambling on ransom money he expects to receive after he kidnaps the children of a sickeningly affluent high roller. Co-stars Danny DeVito, Laurence Luckinbill and Regina Baff.
DeVito grew up in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He worked as a hairdresser for one year at his sister's shop in New Jersey at age 18. In 1966 he met Michael Douglas while studying at the AADA and working at the Eugene O'Neill Foundation when the two were at the National Playwrights Conference in Waterford, CT. After graduating from the AADA, he tried to find acting work in New York and later Los Angeles, but eventually moved back to the New York area. In 1968 was his feature film-acting debut in "Dreams of Glass." His off-Broadway debut in the leading role of one of three one-act plays jointly entitled "The Man With the Flower in His Mouth" was in 1969. DeVito appeared in TV, TV-movies and directed in both TV episodes and TV-movies. He has been featured in numerous hit movies as well as producing and directing movies.
