'Most Beautiful' Berry works hard for her looks
For the seventh time, Halle Berry is on People magazine's annual list of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World," but making it there repeatedly isn't easy.
The 34-year-old actress, who's on the cover of the issue that comes out Friday, says she works out daily with a treadmill and weights, and maintains a strict diet of chicken, fish, vegetables, brown rice and tabbouleh.
"I'm not obsessive, like I have to have the best butt or the best abs, but I like the idea of feeling strong and healthy," said Berry, who co-stars in "X2: X-Men United," which opens Friday. "It's important to feel good about myself physically."
Julia Roberts is on the "Most Beautiful" list for a record eighth time. Also appearing this year are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, twin teen stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and singers Norah Jones and Usher.
Morrison to fight charges
"Will & Grace" actress Shelley Morrison will fight the misdemeanor shoplifting charges against her, her attorney said Wednesday.
Morrison, who plays wisecracking Rosario Salazar, the Salvadoran maid of socialite Karen Walker on the NBC comedy, is innocent and plans to mount a "vigorous defense," attorney Donald Etra said.
The city attorney filed misdemeanor charges Tuesday after the district attorney declined to file felony charges.
The 66-year-old actress is accused of taking $446.44 worth of jewelry from a Robinsons-May department store in West Los Angeles on April 23.
'Taxi' star sues casino
Jeff Conaway, who starred in the 1970s TV series "Taxi," has sued Mandalay Bay, claiming security guards roughed him up at the Las Vegas casino in the summer.
The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, alleges the 52-year- old actor was manhandled on June 3 after he'd spent time drinking and playing blackjack.
A call to the casino seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.
The lawsuit alleges Conaway was surrounded by guards, some of whom "viciously and without provocation . . . slammed him to the floor" before he was handcuffed and confined at the hotel.
Mr. T sues Best Buy
Mr. T has sued Best Buy Co. Inc., alleging the nation's largest electronics store didn't have permission to use his likeness in a print ad.
The 52-year-old tough-guy actor, born Laurence Tureaud, is seeking unspecified monetary damages in the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The lawsuit alleges the ads are devaluing a "unique persona that (he) developed for (more than) 20 years and is of great economic value to him."
Best Buy said Wednesday that the company doesn't comment on pending litigation.
