The Kansas Chapter of Singles in Agriculture will host an activity in Wamego on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28. The event will include a tour of the Jeffery Energy Center, a dinner and dance, and breakfast on Sunday morning.
Registration for the event will open at noon Saturday at the Blackjack American Legion west of Wamego on US-24 highway. At 1 p.m., the group will carpool to the Jeffery Energy Center for a tour, which starts at 1:45 p.m. Registration reopens at the Blackjack American Legion at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
The dance, which starts at 8 p.m., will feature Larry and Mona, a live local band. Guests are welcome to attend all or any part of the activities.
Singles in Agriculture is a nationwide organization formed in 1986. It has members in 41 states. The Kansas chapter of SIA has more than 100 members and hosts a variety of activities each year. There are national activities as well, which include a convention, anniversary celebration and a summer camp-out.
