Chicago Sun-Times: Big question: Who's going to jump?

There is a whole lot of finger-pointing these days in the Alliance as everyone wants to know who is the man Vince McMahon was referring to as the one who will jump ship to the WWF at "Survivor Series."

Despite McMahon's claims that Stone Cold Steve Austin was changing over, RVD and Kurt Angle seem to be the prime targets. RVD has been seen linked to Vince McMahon, even spending time with Vince in his limo. RVD makes sense on many levels, not the least of which is the fact he is currently one of the most popular stars in the federation, but it could be too obvious to be the choice.

As for Angle, it is tough to get a sense of where he stands. Angle has flourished as a federation fan favorite, but he has been lackluster as a heel as seen by the crowd response from his fight with The Undertaker on Monday. Could Angle have been planted in the Alliance by Vince to infiltrate and divide from within? Possibly, but the WWF needs to pull off a big surprise at "Survivor Series," and I look at Angle as a fallback--not a main--storyline.

Booker T does not look to have main-event drawing power in the WWF just yet, and again, him turning would be a backup plan. That leaves just two--Austin and Shane McMahon. A true shocker would be for Shane O'Mac himself to be the man to screw the Alliance and take a few stars with him to the WWF. Shane plays a good heel, but in my opinion a better face, and his in-ring abilities make fans want to like him.

As for Stone Cold, remember, DTA--Don't Trust Anyone--is his motto and could be the theme of this year's "Survivor Series." With stars like HHH and Chris Benoit on their way back to the federation and some WCW stars potentially on their way in, anything could happen at the "Survivor Series." The only question is, will anyone be watching to find out?

HEARD AROUND THE RING: The Big Show has replaced Vince McMahon in the "Survivor Series" main event. Could this be the start of the Show's return to main-event status in the WWF? . . . Big Vito and The Wall were seen backstage at "Raw" and "Smackdown" last week.

HOTLINE: More big-name stars set to join Hulk Hogan's new promotion, plus the latest on Scott Hall and Kevin Nash planning a return to the WWF. That--and news I found out at "Raw" and "Smackdown" last week that the WWF doesn't want you to know--all on the hotline: (900) 454-SLAM ($2 per minute).
