Some said it never would happen, but Hulk Hogan and the NWO are back in the WWF. Hogan, along with the original Outsiders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, have finalized terms with the Federation and could be back in February just in time for the "No Way Out" PPV.
Obviously, these three will dramatically impact the future of the organization--and if Hall and Nash have their way, they could be getting "The Clique" back together by recruiting Shawn Michaels, X- Pac and HHH.
Clearly, the WWF has been in a bit of a slump the past few months as the wrestling business has had its ups and downs. However, these key additions could be enough to jump-start the WWF to a very successful 2002. There could be some signs of return at the upcoming "Royal Rumble," but with that card jam-packed, don't expect too much. Already booked for what could be the greatest "Rumble" of all time are HHH, Austin, Kane, Undertaker, Booker T, Angle, Big Show, Godfather, Val Venis, Curt Hennig and almost anyone else you can think of, including Golddust, who may or may not be played by Dustin Runnels.
In addition, many other names of the past have been contacted about their availability for Sunday night including D-Lo Brown, The Barbarian and Mark Henry. Of course, Y2J defends vs. the Rock, Edge puts the Intercontinental strap on the line vs. William Regal, and Trish Stratus faces her toughest challenge yet vs. newcomer Jazz.
AROUND THE RING: Kudos to Chris Jericho for his performance so far as undisputed world champion--and since the WWF will not want to bounce the title around and the Rock's continuing obligations in Hollywood, I expect Jericho to leave the "Rumble" as champion and carry it to "WrestleMania." ... David Flair and Shane McMahon could get involved in the Ric Flair vs. Vince McMahon feud, but it could be Shane with Ric and David with Vince. . . . Look for Rob Van Dam to employ the services of Lita when she returns to the WWF. ... I expect the Dudleys to win back the tag straps from Spike and Tazz at the "Rumble." . . . Rumors are stirring that Raven is looking to reform the Flock and is talking to Kidman, Saturn, Stevie Richards and Tommy Dreamer. ... Scott Steiner and Randy Savage could appear at the February WWA show.
HOTLINE: I will reveal five more surprises in store for the "Rumble" that will make this event one of the most memorable in Federation history. Call the hotline: (900) 454-SLAM ($2 per minute).
