Chicago Sun-Times: The Big Show joins New World Order

For the first time since Scott Steiner donned the black and white of the NWO, the group has added a big-time free agent to the fold. The Big Show stunned the wrestling world this last week by turning on his tag-team partner Stone Cold Steve Austin and joining Scott Hall and X-Pac in what was left of the New World Order. The NWO has been in a bit of trouble lately following the departures of Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash. X-Pac's return helped, but the Big Show coming in adds a whole new dimension. The bad news for the Big Show is now Austin is completely focused on getting his revenge on the 7-footer, and that will likely come sooner rather than later. Speaking of Nash, there is talk that he could be back at full strength soon and could be disguising himself as Kane while waiting out his suspension.

HEARD AROUND THE RING: There is a strong rumor circulating that the WWF is planning on another super main event at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV where Hulk Hogan will defend the world title against Austin for the unified title. That would assume that Hogan remains the champion that long, and that they could pull a full heel turn for Austin in the meantime. ... Steiner had a meeting with a WWF- appointed doctor this last week, and I hear he has been cleared to resume wrestling on a full-time basis. Could a WWF debut be far away? ... At a recent appearance, Goldberg told the crowd he will be back soon. ... Despite being on the SmackDown roster, HHH is on tour with the Raw wrestlers. ... The new May 4 London Wembley Arena pay-per- view lineup has been changed to HHH vs. Undertaker, Austin vs. the Big Show, Eddie Guerrero vs. Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental title, X-Pac vs. Bradshaw, Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Booker T, Hardy Boys vs. Brock Lesnar and Shawn Stasiak, Spike Dudley vs. William Regal for the European title, Trish Stratus and Jacqueline vs. Molly Holly and Jazz, and Mr. Perfect vs. Crash Holly. ... During a recent interview Vince McMahon stated he was confident The Rock would not forget where he came from and will always return to feel the rush of being in a WWF ring.
