All indications lead me to believe the WWE roster-split idea will survive for now, but you definitely can look for some shake-ups in the coming weeks.
First off, following the Monday announcement by HBK Shawn Michaels that HHH is on his way to the NWO, we have a strong clue that Hunter will be moving to "Raw." Second, Chris Benoit currently is listed as being on both the "Raw" and "SmackDown" rosters by the WWE.com Web site. There seemingly would have to be some sort of official declaration regarding what roster he is on, but that does make you feel he is not bound in any way to the "SmackDown" side that drafted him.
The word is, the WWE will be adding names like John Cena, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio Jr. to the "SmackDown" roster, so that could become the breeding ground for some of the newer stars of the company. That would leave the WWE's signature program, "Raw," for the big guns--and adding the likes of HHH, Benoit and possibly Kurt Angle and Hollywood Hulk Hogan clearly would be a step in the right direction.
HEARD AROUND THE RING: There is a strong possibility the Undertaker will turn face again in time for "SummerSlam." That would imply he still will be the WWE champion come that time. ... Vince Russo was backstage for the NWA-TNA pay-per-view in Nashville, Tenn. Sounds like rumors Russo has quit the WWE are true. ... Jim Ross said recently he still has not heard from Steve Austin and may be contacting Stone Cold sometime in the next few weeks. Ross also said the WWE never has been contacted by anyone representing Bill Goldberg. ... Some are saying the tough-love segment on "Raw" in which Shawn Michaels superkicked the Big Show originally was intended for X-Pac. What can be taken from that is, the only safe ones in the NWO right now are Michaels and Kevin Nash. I still will need to see HHH in the black and white before I believe it.
