Chicago Sun-Times: Uncertainty surrounds 'chamber'

It is "Survivor Series" weekend for the WWE, and New York is abuzz over the first elimination chamber match.

HHH is being forced to defend the "Raw" version of the world championship against five men in a match nobody knows too much about. All we know is that two men will start the match in the middle of a 16-foot-high steel dome, and at some point the doors on four other mini-cages will open, releasing one of the remaining challengers.

Who will start and who will be released first is unknown, but this should be as brutal as any title match in WWE history. The good news for the WWE is that fans can't wait to see the chamber; the bad news is, who knows how the match will come off in person or on pay per view.

Expect the unexpected--maybe even Scott Steiner getting involved. Booker T, Chris Jericho, HHH and Shawn Michaels will put on a good show, but I could see Kane or Rob Van Dam walking out with the strap. In the other main event, Brock Lesner defends the "SmackDown" world title against the Big Show. The only question about the outcome in this one is if Paul Heyman is still employed by the Next Big Thing once the match is over.

Also on the card, Trish Stratus will defend the women's title against Victoria in a hardcore match, and the Dudleys team with Jeff Hardy to face Rico and the 3 Minute Warning.

AROUND THE RING: There's plenty of speculation regarding Steiner's future. "Raw" or "SmackDown" could use a star of his magnitude. The initial idea was to have Steiner on SmackDown to feud with Lesner, but with the Raw ratings continuing to drop, I look for Big Poppa Pump on Monday nights. ... In a recent interview Jeff Jarrett stated that the NWA-TNA probably would get an international TV deal before the landed on a US network. ... Hulk Hogan does not seem to be in any rush to return to the WWE full time, so with a book on its way, expect to see Hogan all over the map between now and Christmas. ... The Ultimate Warrior will make his return to the ring during the Ring of Honor show on Dec. 28.
