Vince McMahon could not have made it any clearer for Eric Bischoff on Monday night: Turn around "Raw" in 30 days or you're out. If history tells us anything, it's that Vince does not make idle threats- -and if I were Easy E, I would be very worried about Day 31.
As seen Monday night, Shane McMahon is waiting in the wings and is ready to take over "Raw" at any moment. One would have to think Shane is ready for the job after taking a long vacation from WWE TV. Shane has the respect of the boys in the back, can flat out perform in the ring if need be, and does not carry a lot of the baggage Bischoff brought from WCW.
I hear Bischoff has an open-ended contract with the WWE, so it would be very easy to let him go. That being said, if Shane did take over the reins, I doubt Bischoff would just disappear into the sunset.
AROUND THE RING:
When Nathan Jones makes his WWE debut, he will join the "SmackDown" roster and eventually should feud with Brock Lesner. ... It's no secret fans were disappointed with the "Raw" 10th anniversary show Tuesday night. Though all the big names were in attendance, there was very little in terms of surprises or returns. The biggest disappointment was that Stone Cold Steve Austin was not on hand to accept his "Raw" Wrestler of the Decade award. Vince McMahon told fans the reason Austin was not there was because he was not invited. Many believe this will be the groundwork for an Austin return to again feud with McMahon. ... The filmed segment with the Rock was a total flop and should be enough evidence the Rock needs to return as a heel. However, heels do not sell movie tickets, so the Rock will be force-fed to fans as a good guy despite the fact that many feel betrayed by him for always running off to Hollywood. ... Other winners Tuesday night were Trish Stratus for Diva of the Decade; Kurt Angle's moonsault off the top of the cage against Chris Benoit in 2001; Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2002; and Steve Austin's episode with the beer truck was voted the No. 1 moment in "Raw" history. ... I get a strange feeling the Dudleys will come up just a bit short this weekend at the "Rumble" but will regroup in time for a big run at the straps at "WrestleMania."
