FASHION queen Kate Moss celebrated Hogmanay in Scotland - but not in the freezing cold of Edinburgh's famous street party.
Instead the supermodel and a gang of mates took over swanky Dalhousie Castle - seven miles south of Edinburgh - for a huge, five- day shindig.
She was joined by celeb pals including Scots rocker Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Clash star Mick Jones and Supergrass guitarist Danny Goffney.
The trendy North London crowd sat down to a sumptuous banquet at the castle in a luxury package costing around pounds 1,000 each.
They saw in the new year with a traditional ceilidh, followed by a spot of first-footing and rounded off the evening at 2am with bacon rolls.
The holiday package also offered the guests clay-pigeon shooting, a charity casino night, a falconry display and a VIP visit to Harvey Nichols.
Today Kate's crowd are due to "beat the retreat" with pipes and drums, signalling their return to London.
The gang arrived at Edinburgh Airport on Wednesday and were taken to the castle in a fleet of chauffeur-driven limos.
Kate, often billed as the world's most beautiful woman, took along her two-year-old daughter Lila Grace.
Four years ago the same crowd had spent Hogmanay at a castle near Scone, Perthshire.
A pal said: "They all had a great time and said they would have to do it again some time. This time around it was an even more grand occasion - no expense was spared."
Dalhousie Castle bills itself as a "fascinating 13th-century fortress set within acres of wooded parkland on the picturesque banks of the river Esk".
The castle's website says: "From the moment you arrive, a warm Scottish welcome awaits.
"You will always feel as welcome as the laird."
