On his official Web site last week, Bret Hart ran a rebuttal to the comments made by Shawn Michaels on Monday night on "Raw," and Hart made it very clear that no apology has been given for what happened at the 1997 "Survivor Series" in Montreal.
According to BretHart.com, "Bret Hart has never received any apology whatsoever from Shawn Michaels. For a man who claims to have found God to outright lie to millions of people is disappointing to say the least. Then again, it really isn't surprising when you consider that this is the same Shawn Michaels who swore to God, on videotape, right after the 'Survivor Series' '97 screw job, that he wasn't in on it ... only to admit, years later, that he was in on it all along."
The site reiterates that Hart is not the one who brought this matter back to the forefront, and he wishes it had been left alone. There also is a detailed version of the controversy surrounding the 1997 "Survivor Series" match as well as the events leading up to that night. The story includes the involvement of Vince McMahon, Pat Patter-son, Earl Hebner and others.
Of greater interest, there is a poll on the site asking fans if they would like to see the Hitman back in the WWE. As of Thursday night, 145,234 fans (95.4 percent) said yes and just 6,956 (4.6 percent) said no.
HEARD AROUND THE RING: Mick Foley sounds more and more like someone who wants to get back in the ring. After Foley finishes promoting his new book, I would expect to see him back in the WWE on a part-time basis. ... It is confirmed that Goldberg will face HHH for the WWE championship at "SummerSlam." ... Announced matches for the "Vengeance" PPV include Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle vs. the Big Show in a WWE title triple-threat match, Vince McMahon vs. Zach Gowan, John Cena vs. the Undertaker, the finals of the U.S. Title Tournament, and a grudge match between Stephanie McMahon and Sable.
