You have to start to wonder at what point the luck is going to turn around for the WWE, and instead of losing big-name stars at a two-a-week clip, things will begin going their way. Added last week to the long list of injured, fired or retired stars were former world champions Kurt Angle and the Big Show.
Big Show had been working on a very injured knee, but fought through long enough to finish his feud with John Cena at Mania and to have his "I quit match" on "SmackDown." Show had surgery Tuesday, and although it was a success, considering he carries more than 500 pounds around, he will need several months to fully recover. Despite being a champion numerous times in the WWE, Show never really has lived up to Andre the Giant-like potential, and the injuries seem to be piling up. Maybe the WWE should go back to the history books and see how Andre was used in the late '70s and early '80s to see how to use Big Show in the future. Never overused, and always a huge draw, Andre was a household name worldwide. The WWE needs to consider utilizing the Show in a similar fashion, and only use him for big matches.
Angle seems destined to be the greatest wrestler ever who had his career cut short because of injury. Angle will be heading back for yet another neck operation this time to hopefully correct severe back pain and numbness in his fingers. Angle has too much to offer to the fans of the WWE, even outside the ring, to jeopardize his future, and after this operation he should seriously consider re-evaluating his future in the ring.
