Almost every big name in the wrestling business has appeared in both the WWE and the WCW. Austin, Goldberg, Flair, Undertaker, Bret Hart, Luger, Steiner, Booker T, Hogan, Savage, Jericho, Mysterio, Benoit, Guerrero -- the list is miles long.
The much shorter list of men who have competed for only one company is about to get a bit shorter as we now hear Sting is getting closer to joining the WWE roster. Sting said recently he has a very good relationship with Vince McMahon and has been close to making a WWE debut on a number of occasions, most recently at "WrestleMania XX." In fact, Sting and McMahon on more than one occasion had laid out the story line and location for the Stinger's debut, only to have the lawyers get in the way of signing a contract.
As far as his NWA/TNA gig, Sting said it was done as a favor since Jerry Jarrett gave Sting his break in wrestling. However, Sting said he does not consider himself part of the TNA roster. So if the timing is right and the WWE can write Sting into a good enough feud, we will see the former WCW champion in a WWE ring.
HEARD AROUND THE RING: We told you a few weeks ago that Ted Turner was considering a return to the wrestling business and will start by signing Stone Cold Steve Austin and Goldberg to exclusive contracts.
