Chicago Sun-Times: Austin's WWE run may not be done

In what should be considered very good news for WWE fans, Stone Cold Steve Austin has signed agent Barry Bloom to manage his career. Bloom, who already represents HHH, Mick Foley, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Bill Goldberg and numerous others, is considered easy to work with and has a strong working relationship with the McMahon family.

With Bloom on board, it's possible Austin will start working matches in Japan for big money but also will continue negotiating with the WWE. The WWE was resigned to the fact that with his current representation, Austin and the company would never come to terms on a deal and his successful run would be over. With Bloom, there is a great deal of optimism that Austin will be back in 2004.

HEARD AROUND THE RING: The WWE is looking for Mordecai to become more of a dominating force and to stop allowing his opponents to get in so many offensive moves. Mordecai is set to have major summer feuds with most of the top stars on the "SmackDown" roster. ... Word is Randy Orton could get a shot at Chris Benoit and the WWE title at the upcoming "Vengeance" PPV on July 11. There has been talk about turning Orton against Evolution to feud with HHH, but at this point that seems to be on hold. ... Speaking of HHH, the Game is close to bringing back his old buddy Sean "X-Pac" Waltman. Despite having numerous run-ins with WWE management, Waltman could be back to join Evolution in a backstage role. Due to neck injuries, Waltman cannot work a full in-ring schedule. ... "SummerSlam will be held at the Air Canada Center in Montreal. ... ESPN is looking to get into the Brock Lesnar business and will begin showing his workouts for NFL teams. Due to all the media attention Lesnar brings -- as well as his incredible physical skills -- it's likely the former champion will head to camp with an NFL team.
