All John Bradshaw" Layfield was trying to do last week in Germany was anger the fans enough to add some heat to his World Title match against Eddie Guerrerro. What he ended up doing was annoying people around the globe and getting himself in maybe more hot water than any wrestler before.
While in Munich, Bradshaw -- looking to draw some fan heat -- began "goose-stepping" and using other Nazi mannerisms. It will come as no surprise that this was considered inappropriate under any circumstances, and the fallout was not far behind. Bradshaw quickly was relieved of his duties as a contributor on CNBC, and he was ridiculed in numerous media outlets.
According to some reports, WWE management was not as angry as many others, but a number of Bradshaw's fellow grapplers were not pleased. Some said they were embarrassed to work for the same company as Bradshaw. The WWE did post an apology on its Web site.
LESNAR CLOSER TO NFL: Brock Lesnar just might be on an NFL roster come September. Lesnar is offering his services first to his hometown Minnesota Vikings, and if he can run a 4.7 40-yard dash as his agent claims, he very well might be canceling trips to other NFL camps. The Vikings seem intrigued by Lesnar's size and strength.
AROUND THE RING: Sounds like the Undertaker is doing everything he can to help develop young talent. Taker has taken some heat for not selling opponents' moves and being pushed as unbeatable, but his backstage help has kept him a favorite of almost the entire "SmackDown" roster. ... The WWE is expecting Kurt Angle to wrestle at "SummerSlam," where a match between the Undertaker and Mordecai has been added. ... Don't be surprised to see Edge make a turn and become one of the most hated men on the "Raw" roster, and I hear Kane also could be on the road to a turn.
