Chicago Sun-Times: Visiting day for 3 former champs

The Rock made a surprise return to the WWE on Monday night, having a run-in with his old nemesis The Coach, but Rocky wasn't the only former title holder in the building as both Stone Cold Steve Austin and X-Pac were backstage before and after the show.

Fresh out of a treatment program, X-Pac was said to look good and was very cordial. While it has often been said that Vince McMahon and HHH both are in X-Pac's corner, he is not quite ready for a ring return. Austin almost certainly is going to be back with the WWE; the only question is when. He talked with almost all the boys in the back, but most notable was his chat with McMahon.

Some there said Austin has given up drinking and is getting his life back on track before approaching the WWE about a comeback.

AROUND THE RING: The "WWE 'Raw' Diva Search" has become such a disaster that even The Rock seemed clumsy and unsure during the segment last week. There is no point to this mess, but the WWE is stuck now to see it to a conclusion. ... Chavo Guerrero was injured at the "SmackDown" tapings last week and was rushed to a hospital but was released the next day. ... The WWE is bringing back the "Tough Enough" program and will offer $1 million to the winner. ... Kurt Angle has been saying his neck feels fine, and he will continue to work a limited schedule. ... Randy Orton will begin teaming with Chris Benoit vs. HHH and either Batista or Ric Flair at house shows and on "Raw." ... The WWE has put in a strict dress code for wrestlers on the road, but the sticking point is still if the entire roster is subject to the rule. It would be a bit silly to see the Undertaker walking through the airport in a suit and tie. ... Hulk Hogan again is talking about starting his own promotion. Hogan thinks that with him, Austin, Goldberg, Nash and Sting, the new company could do big numbers right out of the gate.
