On TNA Impact last week, Rowdy" Roddy Piper returned and announced that Glory Road" Piper will bring back the wildly popular In the Pit with Piper" segment at the first TNA three-hour PPV.
The reincarnation of the old Piper's Pit has not been nearly as good as the original, but this one could be a must-see. Piper will have three weeks to prepare a classic segment and has promised to bring in a big name special guest to the Pit. Early rumors mentioned Jimmy Superfly Snuka as a possibility to seek revenge for the infamous coconut incident from the early 1980s, but I doubt Snuka would turn his back on the WWE like that.
Also at the Glory Road" show, expect the return of the Outsiders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. In what could be the turning point for the TNA brand, the Outsiders could be bringing in Sean X-Pac" Waltman and Diamond Dallas Page to create a strong four-man stable.
HEARD AROUND THE RING: Sounds like the Rock is looking to get back in the ring again. Word is the Rock has been reviewing old wrestling tapes and has been in regular contact with the WWE. Although he is contractually obligated to a few more movies, look for the Great One to be on Raw whenever his schedule allows. ... Pat Patterson has decided to leave the WWE over creative differences and will retire after the Taboo Tuesday PPV event. ... New Jack is at it again. The former ECW tag champ has been arrested after stabbing his opponent 14 times during a death match in Jacksonville, Fla. New Jack and his opponent, William Jason Lane, had planned to use the metal prop during the match, but not to that extent. New Jack is being held on $40,000 bond.
