Both of the popular Who Wants to Be a Binionaire progressives were hit on the same day at the Horseshoe Casino Hammond on Aug. 6. Helen Oberman of Orland Park hit the $83,445 jackpot on the 50-cent version of the game; then a Chicago resident who wished to remain anonymous collected a payoff of $157,496 on the $1 game. The 50- cent game is reset at $75,000, while the $1 Binionaire starts at $150,000.
*Resorts East Chicago is offering a 2 for Tuesday special in the Buffet during the month of August. Guests who purchase one dinner buffet for the regular price of $18 receive a second one free. Tuesday dinner hours in the Buffet at Resorts are 3- 10 p.m.
*Trump Casino & Hotel in Gary offers eight to nine different no- limit games in its spacious 21-table poker room. The largest is spread with a $1,500 minimum buy-in and $10/$25 blinds. According to Rod Smith's report in the Las Vegas Review Journal, the 1,300 slots at McCarron represent the airport's largest single source of revenue.
