Valent Corp. made a big splash in desert town Las Vegas with the launch of its new Safari insecticide.
KEY growers and distributors were invited to attend Valent Corp.'s Safari insecticide launch event Feb. 1-3 at the Treasure Island hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The launch included an informational session with an interactive twist. Valent National Business Manager Wayne Winner asked attendees to 1) list what they would like to learn about Safari and 2) describe characteristics of what they considered to be the perfect insecticide.
Next were presentations by key entomologists from around the country, including Dr. James Bethke of the University of California, Dr. Ron Getting of the University of Georgia, Dr. Lance Osborne of the University of Florida and Dr. Jason Fausey representing Valent. The scientists presented results from their research, comparing Safari to competitive products, applied on specific crops to their particular climates and areas of the country.
Groups led by Valent representatives broke out to discuss the results of grower trials with Safari, as well as any problems or concerns they might have about its use.
After lunch, the business meeting was wrapped up with a review of the characteristics attendees said would make a perfect insecticide, as they applied to Safari. Most agreed the new insecticide came very close.
