France's number two food retailer, Casino, reported turnover up by 9.3% to ??11.138bn in the first nine months of 1999. At constant exchange rates and on a like-for-like basis, sales grew by a less impressive but still solid 4.7%. In real terms, Casino's turnover grew by 4.5% in France and by 44.3% abroad.
