National Dragster: Dart Dash invitational to return to Atlanta in 2006

The NHRA Top Sportsman Dart Dash will return to the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac at Atlanta Dragway in 2006 for a second run. Additionally, next year's event is being expanded to a 32-car field with the addition of competitors from the Northeast Division's Foxwoods Resort Casino Top Sportsman Shootout.

The Top Sportsman all-star invitational will include the top 10 2005 points finishers from the Northeast Division Foxwoods Resort Casino Top Sportsman Shootout Series, the Southeast Division TracStar/Davis Inmotion Satellites Top Sportsman Series, the North Central Division Dart Top Sportsman Series, and the South Central Division Sunset Racecraft Top Sportsman Series.

Contestants will qualify Thursday and Friday to set the 32-car field, and eliminations will be held Saturday. Reigning division Top Sportsman champions will be guaranteed a position, and the remaining spots will be filled by the quickest qualifiers.

The NHRA Top Sportsman Dart Dash is part of a three-year title sponsorship agreement with Dart Machinery, a leader in the production of race-wining components. Country Motors Trailer Sales will be returning as a presenting sponsor of the 2006 Dart Dash.
