UTC Power recently announced that the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have recognized three facilities in Connecticut that generate clean energy using the company's PureCell 200 fuel cells.
According to UTC Power, the Saint Francis Care Hospital in Hartford, the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort in Uncasville and South Windsor High School each received an Energy Star combined heat and power (GHP) Award and an EPA CHP Certificate of Recognition during the recently held Connecticut Green Building Forum.
"These awards confirm the environmental and energy efficiency benefits of our proven fuel cell technology," said UTC Power president Jan van Dokkum. "We're honored to have manufactured the fuel cells that earned our customers EPA and DOE recognition for reducing emissions and energy consumption beyond expectation."
