I'm responding to the wonderful article, "Don Barden: Hitting The Casino Jackpot" (Oct. 2004). He worked his way up to owning one of the best casinos in Las Vegas.

I'm very moved by any Black person who comes from almost nothing and becomes a success through hard work and determination. I never knew, nor most of the people I've shown the article to, how close to home he lives. I hope he does get his wish and opens a casino in Detroit. Good luck!
