Jet: Gladys Knight inks 1-year deal at Flamingo Las Vegas casino - Newsmakers

Soul singer Gladys Knight has signed a one-year contract to perform at the world-renowned Flamingo Las Vegas casino-hotel.

She is scheduled to kick off her headlining engagement this week, beginning Feb. 12.

"I am thrilled to be headlining on the famed Las Vegas Strip at a property with such a rich entertainment legacy--the Flamingo Las Vegas," says Knight, who lives in Las Vegas.

"I have called Las Vegas home for several years now and couldn't be happier to be performing here. I was looking for the perfect engagement to allow myself the chance to travel less, and this couldn't have come at a better time. I am filled with a sense of love, community and patriotism and am blessed that the Flamingo Las Vegas has given me this golden opportunity," she says.
