LAS VEGAS -- Culinary Workers Union Local 226 will pressure Stations Casinos to change its corporate-governance practices, expanding the union's grievance list beyond the Calabasas Hills, Calif-based Cheesecake Factory chain, Local 226 spokesman Chris Bohner said.
The shareholding union filed a proxy in March that, if approved at Cheesecake Factory's May 13 annual meetng, would require the company o expense stock options and get hareholder approval of all stock option plans.
Stations, which operates six casino complexes in Las Vegas, is controlled by the Fertitta family many of whom reportedly participate in the company's stock option plan.
Local 226 is a branch of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union, which has sought unsuccessfully to organize Stations and The Venetian resort, which houses a branch of Cheesecake Factory's second brand, Grand Lux Cafe.
