New for the 2005, Foxwoods Resort and Casino will sponsor Top Sportsman at four races in the Sony/PCRichard.com National Open Series and two Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.
Showcased last fall at the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic, the new class will bring a new element to the division's competitive Sportsman racing program. Run on a dial-your-own basis with a minimum 7.99 dial, Top Sportsman competitors will race using a full Tree with the top bulb blinded using Compulink Crosstalk. Fields will be qualified, and the top 64 will compete in eliminations. Racers in eliminations may not dial slower than .1-second from their qualifying time; they may dial faster than their qualifying time with no limit. A Sportsman ladder will be generated after qualifying.
The Foxwoods Resort and Casino Top Sportsman competition will be run at the National Opens at Atco, Maple Grove (both), and Mason-Dixon and the Lucas oil Drag Racing Series events at Lebanon Valley and U.S. 13. The standard entry fee and Super-category purse apply.
