PITTSBURGH -- Canam Manac Group Inc. of Saint Georges de Beauce, Quebec, has been awarded a Canadian $23.5-million ($14.8-million) contract for the fabrication and installation of 7,500 tons of structural steel and 900,000 square feet of steel deck for the construction of the Niagara Falls Casino/Gateway project in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The project by general contractor PCL Constructors Canada Inc. also includes 200 tons of architectural steel to build the casino entrances. Construction is expected to begin in May and will continue until March 2003.
Canam Manac, which specializes in the fabrication of steel joists and construction components, semi trailers and forestry equipment, operates 22 plants in Canada, the United States, Mexico and France with about C$1 billion ($629.9 million) in annual sales.
