Welcome to a special Halloween edition of Chart Attack!, our weekly look back at the Japanese gaming market. There's really nothing special to differentiate this week's CA! from other installments, but we think you'll find it a lot spookier if read aloud in an ominous voice. Dengeki Online has supplied the sales data and a big bowl of Mallomars, so grab one on your way out.
Those crazy Naruto games are still making the scene with alarming regularity, this week in the form of NARUTO: Narultimate Hero on the GameCube. If ninjas aren't your thing (weirdo), you're probably playing the new Macross game or dodging vegetables with your friends in Atsumare!! Made in Wario.
To counter last week's monumental blandness, 11 of this week's entries on the top 20 are new releases, including GBA RPG Oriental Blue. As a PSone game, Square Enix's Front Mission The 1st (a beefed up remake of the original Front Mission) gave 20,000 PS2 owners the opportunity to play something relatively new; the other two units were sold to the only two guys left who still only have a PSone.
Grand Theft Auto III is still chugging along in Japan, this week surpassing the quarter million mark. Just below are several of the new contenders, including the requisite baseball and gambling titles. From Software's PS2 RPG Shadow Tower Abyss emerges just in time for the holiday.
