CULTURE Secretary Tessa Jowell declared for the first time today that she was open to the idea of capping numbers of "mega-casinos".
Ms Jowell moved to head off a Labour revolt over the gambling bill.
Writing in today's Evening Standard, the minister hinted she may back moves to limit the number of Las Vegas-style casinos to around 40 if "practical" difficulties could be solved.
