I like a tight driving hole, but not one that's ridiculously narrow. If there's out-of-bounds on the right, water on the left and 30 yards of fairway between, the smart player won't consider hitting a driver. He'll reflexively reach for a 2-iron or 3-wood. The best driving holes are ones that tempt you to try something best avoided. The reward for gambling with the driver should be barely attainable, so when you slip up you curse yourself for succumbing to the temptation.
