AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Icelandic aviation solutions group Avion Group said on Thursday (21 July) that it had acquired a 19% interest in the charter airline Casino Express through a partnership with management members.

Through the joint management buyout Avion is purchasing 19% of the Elko, US-based charter operation for an undisclosed sum, which would benefit Avion through utilisation of Avion's aircraft for charter projects within the US.

Casino Express averages 40 flights per month, bringing 60,000 tourists to Elko, the Nevada gambling town, each year. Casino Express would continue to operate charter flights, as per agreements with the casinos of Elko, with plans to expand and upgrade the existing aircraft fleet for additional projects.
