INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Communications and information services company Level 3 Communications Inc has been chosen to supply network services to Sony Online Entertainment, the online gaming division of Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment.

Level 3 will supply its (3)Packet Ethernet WAN service and (3)Packet data transport service which will be used to support the EverQuest online game and selected future releases.

A spokesperson for Sony has said that at peak times there has been over 100,000 players participating in EverQuest at one time and that the implementation of the products from Level 3 is expected to deliver an improved online service to the players.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
