Danes should not be allowed to gamble at foreign sites on the Internet, according to the Danish tax minister Frode Sorensen.
The minister has said that he wants Dansk Tipstjeneste to retain its gambling monopoly. Sorensen has also suggested in letters to the parliament tax committee that Danish banks should be set to block the authorisation of payments to receivers that are clearly identified as foreign gambling sites online.
The tax ministry has reportedly written a report on the future of gambling laws that will be released next week. The minister has however said that he will do what he can to maintain the Danish gambling monopoly.
